OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla -- Duct tape can mend a lot of things. 15 year old McKenna Marchbanks learned, it works it everything from worn shoes to broken hearts.

It was a lesson gleaned in middle school when another child asked her for help. Marchbanks said, "Her shoes were falling apart. She and I went into another teacher's class and I helped her duct tape her shoes back together. I felt bad because she didn't have proper shoes and she was embarrassed."

Several months later, McKenna witnessed a mother and small child, with no shoes.

These life experiences would become the spark for her charity -- "Mckenna's Sole Purpose". McKenna told us, "My goal is to collect 600 by July 31st. My original goal was 300 but we passed that."

New and gently used shoes are donated to needy people here and all around the world.

Family friend, Bea Silva nominated this teen for Pay It Forward. Silva said, "She's 15 and she's taking on this monumental need. She didn't think people would be receptive but she went to her church, family, and social media. She's found an outpouring of support. So, that's what is driving her to do this."

With the help of First Fidelity Bank, we surprised Marchbanks recently with a $400 gift. "What do you think? I feel blessed right now."

And McKenna hopes to bless many more with this unexpected gift. She told us, "I'll keep on paying it forward okay."
